If you come down to the river, betcha gonna find some people who live
Rollin, rollin', rollin' down the Huzzah.
Well, we ended up floating after all.
Wait, lemme backtrack. I woke up Saturday morning under the assumption that we were not going camping. We ended up going camping.
The next day, we floated. It was a long and arduous journey, but tons of fun. Yoda slid down a mud hill and swung from a tree swing into water. Chiko was the hit of the float trip, in his little doggy lifejacket. There were drunks in every direction. Think Party Cove or Spring Break, but on a much more spread out scale. We were beat to shit after the float trip. I'm mildly sunburned, not lobsteriffic like I thought I would be. I usually end up like a lobster after 5+ hours in the sun, but SPF 15 really helps to alleviate that.
The Huzzah river is really nice, very uncontaminated, and refreshing. I included a link to where we went camping, for futher reference. Be warned though, if you plan on staying up late, get in the late night section. If you like quiet, go to the family section. Also watch out for the owner, or as I like to call him, Mr. Oak Tree up the Ass. He needed to stop being so uptight. Everytime I saw him, he was yelling at an employee. Oh well, can't really criticize the guy for wanting to make his place nice. And nice it is, there's not a lot of trash or debris strewn about and it's landscaped rather well. The stuff in the little store there is rather expensive, but that's business. Also, be warned that you will NOT have cell phone access at ALL. Our phones were all dead about 5 miles from where we stayed. However, if you have a calling card, you can use it there.
Aside from the usual mishaps -- I was sick and crabby the last night we were there, Chuck's girlfriend bitched a lot, and pot was readily available, it seemed to be a really good trip. Everyone had a blast and I'd do it again, just not right now. I got back to St. Louis early this afternoon and couldn't wait for TV, computer, my comfortable couch, and a shower. THere were showers down there and they were quite decent, but there's something to be said about one's own water pressure at home. If I were tired, I'd be sleeping in my bed right now -- something I missed. THere's something really soothing about sleeping under the stars (and there were billions of them). I can't see many from my apartment, but once you get out into God's country, it really becomes a sight to admire.
I shared a tent with Yoda because I didn't have any. I slept well but it was quite cold. On top of that, I've developed a nasty cold, so that made me quite chilly as well. Someone stole our hamburgers and marshmallows and graham crackers from the site while we were on the float trip. They must have been really hungry, because we had more expensive stuff sitting right out in the open -- cooking implements, alcohol, etc. I hope they enjoyed them. Assholes.
On a scale of 1-10 (worst-best), I'd give this camping trip an 8. I was turned off by the zero cell phone access -- but then again, that's why they call it 'roughing it'. I had an ebay auction I needed to keep tabs on. However, the place was beautiful and the float was fun and magnificent.
And yes, I'm glad to be home.

Within the Dark Mind
I've changed things up a bit here.
Is it the weekend yet? Good god this has been a loooooooooooong week. Sunday seemed like two weeks ago. That's okay. Starting tomorrow at 4, I begin a long awaited 3 day weekend. I just have this sneaking suspicion that it's gonna fly by.
I guess I have to comment about the hurricane, since news sites/blogs/even MTV are commenting. Not that I care what MTV has to say about shit other than Headbanger's Ball. Anyway, here are my thoughts.
1. I remember going to New Orleans and falling in love with it -- the decadence, the darkness, the overall mystery and beauty of it all. And now, most of that is gone.
2. If the people on the news told me that a giant tornado was gonna hit my apartment complex in 2 days, you've got to be crazy if you think I could/would ride that fucker out. I'd gather as much shit as I could and be out of here faster than you could say 'it's a twista, it's a twista". It is because of this that I do not feel as sorry for the people who chose to ride this thing out. I feel sorry for the people who lost their lives and lost their homes and belongings, but you've got to be freaking nuts to even CONSIDER riding out a Category 5 hurricane.
3. When people lose everything, they really become very much like animals. It's eye-opening, how people are fighting to survive, trying to shoot at the people who are helping them, doing everything to survive.
I think that's really all I have on that right now. Maybe as things progress more down there in the south, I'll figure more out.
I really thought I had a lot more to say on here, but I guess I don't. I figure gracing you all with my presence is enough.

They say it's your birthday, we're gonna have a good time
I would like to wish Happy Birthday to Dimebag Darrell and Steve. Sorry, Steve, if you were a deceased guitar god, you'd get top billing, but it's cool enough that you and Dime have the same birthday. So happy birthday. I drink to you both.
I have a hate on for a new organization. The DM fucking V. I had to go get my license renewed. Easy enough task, had all the necessary documents. I waited for my number to be called for an hour and fifteen fucking minutes. They are so slow there. I'm glad I wasn't in a hurry. If you know anyone who's really fucking slow doing stuff, tell them to go work at the Telegraph license office. THey'll fit in perfectly. It helps if they are middle aged and female.
I am compiling Hizzy's Birthday Mix 2005 Volumes 1-3 for tonight's festivities. I have two parties to attend and hope that this adds to the musical ambience already present.
I guess that's it.
Oh, and Steve, you also share a birthday with Fred Durst. Yay! A total wuss!

But it’s been no bed of roses, no pleasure cruise. I consider it a challenge before the whole human race and I ain't gonna lose
We didn't win a single game at O'Learys trivia night tonight.
No bitches, we won 2!!!!!
The first round, Greatest Guitar Solos, was run completely by me. People contributed, but as I was writing. My team, well in this case, I went 15/15. Not only was it a win, but it was a flawless victory.
There were several peple who could not make it out tonight. So I called in the reserves. That's right. I called in my clutch players -- Toni and Erich. And let me tell you one thing, we wouldn't have done nearly as well on the final round if they hadn't been there. Erich helped out in some really clutch moments, and we just about took the 2nd round with the help of Toni. We lost that round by 1 question. They were both a huge asset to the team. Erich has joined the team and will be participating next week. Toni is unable to attend next week due to work. However, it should prove mighty interesting these next few weeks, with new players.
Tons of fun was had by all.
Your Name Here was the most unstoppable team there. If it hadn't been for the other shitty categories, we would have probably gone 5 for 5. Rather, we won the first and last rounds. Toni and Erich hold the prize for the last round, since the both of them really assisted me in a huge way.
Beaver, Nate, and Scuba were excellent teammates as well, all contributing, even though we didn't win on the rounds they made the most contributions.
@Beaver -- good call with the Pantera verification. I thought it was, but it was one of their more obscure songs, so thanks for that one. You too are an asset to the team.
To everyone that taunted me and made fun of me for not winning and making me feel dumb, you can't do it anymore, because no matter what, I accomplished what I set out to do, and that was to be among the best at that bar, and now, my team, well, our team can proudly say that we've chalked up 2 solid wins. I feel like a general who marched her troops into combat and came out with an absolute slaughter of the enemy. Now, to keep the momentum going.
I am on top of the world. Nothing can stop me. Nothing can drag me down. 15/15...I still can't fucking believe it. And a wonderful team to boot.
Next week, the saga continues.
No time for losers, cause we are the champions...

Warden threw a party in the county jail...
Today is the 28th anniversary of the death of Elvis Presley. Just thought you'd all like to know that.
Today was a really weird day. It didn't start getting weird until about an hour before I was supposed to leave work. We had a new patient come into work. I don't know her name. She was African-American, about late 20s. She was wearing combat boots and a long t-shirt. By all accounts, I don't think she was wearing any pants (or underwear for that matter). She bent over to tie her shoes and the secretary swore she saw asscheek.
Why do all the psychos come into my office? Why, god, why?
Tonight is trivia. All of you not wanting a run for your money, stay away. Yeah, I know I'm gonna get teased for this trash talk later when my team is defeated, but you know what, fuck you all.
I guess that's it.
Thought I'd something more to say,

We're Going Through Changes
Yes, my dears, the changes to my blog have begun. First, let me plug a really amazing site.

You can download code for different blog backgrounds. There are over 10000 different ones to choose from. While the interface is a little messy, it's still a good site.

Getting to know you, getting to know all about you
1. WHICH NAPOLEON DYNAMITE CHARACTER ARE YOU?
You are Napoleon Dynamite and a buttload of gangs
are trying to recruit you.
Which Napoleon Dynamite character are you?
brought to you by Quizilla
I think this is a good thing, I guess.
Okay, I thought I was gonna find more cool quizzes, but the Napoleon one is the only one I found.
Onward!
For all of you who are wondering, my dad is fine. He's back home. He only had 5% blockage in his heart, according to the cardiac catheter reading (a cardiac catheter is not a pretty thing, believe me) which is next to nothing. There was no heart damage and his enzymes were good. I think this might have been brought on by stress. Think of who he has to put up with and tell me the man doesn't lead a very stressful life.
Yesterday was damn stressful for me. First, I dropped about 160 bucks on books for school. That's okay though. They're undergrad courses that I need, so they shant be too hard. And I want to go back to school like NOW. Yes, I'm a nerd.
Then, there was a bad storm and my power went off. Sucks to be me. I went over to Joe's because I was bored without lights. God bless Ameren UE! I called on my cell phone to report the outage and they called me back with an automated message saying that my power has been restored. Next time you see the meter man, go hug him, because Ameren UE are good people.
Saturday, you all need to journey out to Wentzville to see us and Misanthropic, a really kickass bunch of dudes (with a drum machine!). Who needs a drummer when you've got crazy dude behind the drum machine. Should be an excellent time and I want everyone of you to come out.
I need to clean again and finish vacuuming. Soon, this place will be so nice.
Got invited to a bachelorette party on the 27th. It's one of my bestest friends from college, the lovely Miss Manda. She's getting married to Marty in November, I believe. Should be an excellent time.
That's all.

When the night has come, and the land is gone, and the moon is the only light we'll see
Tonight is going to be fun times, 80s style, bitches. We're having an 80s movie night over at Toni and Erich's. I know Posch is bringing over some John Cusack flick, and I went and rented my 2 all time fave 80s movies -- Fast Times at Ridgemont High (you get to see Phoebe Cates' boobs in the collectors edition) and Stand by Me, which is near the top of my fave 80s movies. Should be a fun nostalgia filled time. I'm wearing my Motley Crue "Dr. Feelgood" shirt for the 80s. That's as 80s attired as I get.
Speaking of 80s and early 90s (well, we're speaking of it now), Yoda and I are conspiring to unleash some nostalgia on this group. On the way to House of Rock last night I passed the ever so 80s Rollercade and thought to myself, "Hizzy, it would be fun if you could get people to go there and stir some stuff up." I congratulated myself for my fun idea and presented it to Yoda. See, we hung out there in the late 80s, early 90s. We're gonna get all 'that decade'ed up and go and skate, like we just stepped out of a time machine from the past. Anyone know where I can get slap bracelets, tight rolled jeans, and a hypercolor shirt?
Went to the Dam last night. It was damn dead is what it was. Our waitress had fake boobs. Angel and I both pointed that out, at different times. Lost at pool twice. Went home. Beaver would like that place, there's Beaver signs everywhere.
Finally have money. Got paid today, but owe my boss 50 bucks that he gave me for a loan, what a nice man. I've also discovered the beauty of Coinstar. It gave me 37 bucks today and about 42 bucks the other day. I have a lot of change and will continue to save it, for dark times.
I'm trying to get my birthday festivities rolling. As of right now, my birthday will be celebrated on the 20th of August, which is a Saturday. Rue 13 has been approved as a definite possiblity for the after-dinner festivities. For those of you not cultured people, Rue 13 is a club down on Washington Ave downtown. They play techno, but aren't a rave club. It's totally cool. We go there and drink martinis. It's not a martini bar, but they have some damn good ones. I want to go to someplace with martinis. As for food, I'm wanting seafood like crazy. Either that or Lemongrass (Vietnamese) or Saleems (Lebanese). Try it, you might like it. As for who is going, I don't know yet. Toni and Erich are already confirmed as going, so if this is something that ANY of you have a problem with (i.e. being around them), don't bother coming, because they're going to be there all night. And I don't plan on going home until around 2 or 3, so if that is a problem, plan accordingly. I'm not going to be mad if you don't/can't come. But if it's because you "don't like that food", give it a fucking chance. I said the same thing about both Lemongrass and Saleems, and now they are 2 of my fave places to eat. Try something new once in a while. I'm naming this "Andrea's Happy Birthday Festival and the Last Bash". I call it the last bash because I start school 3 days after my birthday, and I'm sure everyone else does too. Anyway, I'll post more detailed plans as they become available.
Heard about this new ad campaign for Dove Soap that uses 'real women', not those fake supermodel bitches. Went and grabbed a pic of the women. All I have to say is that it's about fucking time.
Speaking of seafood, salmon for dinner tonight. Gotta go make it.
Adios,

(I Get By) With a Little Help from My Friends
____________________________________________________________________
Ah, another blog entry.
I'm getting ready to leave for trivia night. There should be much fun and hopefully much victorious rejoicing by my team (name yet to be determined).
Everyone keeps asking me the last couple weeks how I'm doing and if I'm okay. Should I not be? Like the song above says -- "I get by with a little help from my friends".
Nothing much to report from the Hizz camp.
You all need to go to www.core-wars.com and vote for Scarlet Whore. If we win the entire contest, we get a spot on a compilation CD and much recognition. It only takes a few seconds to vote and it's free (you don't have to sign up for anyhting or enter your email addy).
The above paragraph was my main objective for writing this blog post. And to let you know that I'm still here. I just haven't updated in a bit.
Yes, for the last time, I'm fine.

He likes to keep his fire engine clean, it's a clean machine
If cleanliness is godliness, consider my home a holy shrine. 3 out of the 4 rooms in my apartment are now pretty and beautiful and clean. Woo hoo. The bedroom and the vacuuming are gonna be the toughest to tackle, but I'm up to the challenge. Up next, after the apartment gets in order, is tackling my car. That may be a much more daunting task than my apartment. I'm thinking of paying my sister 50 bucks to detail it for me.
Just saw the trailer for 'Walk the Line', the new Johnny Cash biopic. I'm going to see this movie for 2 reasons....First and foremost, Johnny Cash is the fucking man, hands down. Secondly, Joaquin Phoenix. He's yummy and I want to lick him. But moreso for the first reason. Johnny Cash. Fucking man.
Just got done watching Farenheit 9/11. I thought it was very well done. I love Charter on Demand. I demanded Farenheit and got it. It was on my free movies this month. Thank you Charter and Showtime. You are both lovely.
This time tomorrow, my trivia team and I may be enjoying a delicious win at O'Leary's trivia night. I'm not counting my chickens yet, but I'm confident that we will do well and will drink the sweet sweet nectar of victory.
I'm a big nerd. Can't wait to get back to school. I drove by the university the other day on my way to the Loop and I wanted to go in and go to school right then. 2 problems..it was nighttime and school doesn't start for another 3 weeks. I get this way about this time every year. Summer is way too long for me. I thirst for knowledge and right now, I'm 99% parched.
Had a strange dream last night. Remember bits and pieces of it. I remember being in a class at school with John Boyer, a guy I used to work with at KCOU, and some friend of his that I've never seen before in my life. We had fun in class. Then, I remember walking into Kurt from GBQ and Elements Of's practice at Kurt's apartment, opening the fridge, popping a beer, and leaving. Strange strange dream.
Nix let me borrow one of his books -- "Dave Barry's Guide to Guys". If you want a good laugh, read Dave Barry. He's hiliarious. Now, I know what you're thinking...if anyone needs a guide to guys, it's certainly not me. [insert Andrea is practically a guy joke here]. He just talks about being a guy and the ins and outs of being a dude. It's hilarious. It's written in such a way that girls could enjoy it too. That makes 5 books I'm currently reading. I need to finish them. I'm currently reading
--Dark Tower III
--Sixpence House
--D.B. Guide to Guys
--Invisible Monsters
and Doing Our Own Thing : The Degradation of Language and Music
I'm closest to finishing Dark Tower III, with Invisible Monsters a close 2nd. I've barely scratched the surface of the other 3.
The doctor comes back to work tomorrow, which means it is going to be hectic as hell around the office. All the freakshows will be out too. I think I'm gonna close the door to my office, put on KSHE, and tune everything out, just focus on my work.
Saw 2 movies this weekend -- The Island and Wedding Crashers. I'm not a movie reviewer. If you like mind-bending sci-fi flicks, go see The Island. If you want to pee your pants from laughing so hard, go see Wedding Crashers. It's fun. And it has Christopher Walken, who can take any movie and make it worth watching. I love me some Christopher Walken. And Vince Vaughn. I want to lick him too. He's money. (If you don't get the 'money' thing, watch Swingers and you will understand).
I've been contemplating burning some new theme CDs or even some genre or decade CDs. I've been playing the fuck out of Abbey Road and Janis Joplin's greatest hits that I think I've officially burned myself out on them. I don't like a lot of the new shit that's out today -- emphasis on the word 'shit'. so I think a move back to the classics is in order. Also been listening to a lot of techno lately. No, I'm not going 'rave-tastic' on you all. It's just really fun music to listen to. Mainly Fatboy Slim, Crystal Method, and Moby. Moby may be a uber-vegan wuss, but some of his stuff is cool. I'm listening to Moby right now as a matter of fact (thank you Joseph for putting Moby and other neato techno tunes on the server when we lived in Columbia).
Word on the street is that Pink Floyd just may be getting back together for a reunion tour. The original lineup. I would give both arms and my first born to see Pink Floyd in concert. Now granted, I'll be sober as a judge when I see them (notice I said 'when' I see them). Everone else will be getting all psychedelic and acid tripped out. Why alter your perception to see a band? I'm there for the music, not for the drugs. I could trip acid in my room and listen to Floyd. Anyway, that's besides the point. Should Floyd come to town, I will sell whatever belongings I need to sell and forego paying any bills that I have in order to have money to see Floyd. I don't need electricity for a couple days. I do need to see Pink Floyd.
I remember : going to see the Pink Floyd laser light show at the Science Center with Sparkamus, Yoda, Josh, PV, and Chuck. Now, that was good times indeed.
I think my I remember feature may become a semi-permanent fixture on this blog. It's good to wax nostalgic once in a while.
Mark your calendars -- August 19th to 21st. It's my birthday weekend. Now, I know the 20th is Quill Day and I respect that and will give Quill tons of birthday fun times. However, I will be celebrating mainly on the 19th and 21st. Plans are up in the air currently. I do know that Joe's Crab Shack is a contender for eats, and martinis at Rue 13 may also be in order. Yeesh, I'm gonna be 24. Oh, the humanity. Anyway, I will post further details when they become available (i.e. when I make up my mind on what the fuck I want to do.)
Well, I guess that's it. I"m a bit sleepy, so I'm gonna go fade into yet another dreamscape.

Smoke the day's last cigarette, rememberin' what she said
Two updates in two days?! Could it be? I must be sick or something.
Actually, I think it's getting that way. I'm all sneezy. Oh well, I've been sick before, so it's not a big deal.
Tomorrow's gonna suck, but not worse than yesterday. I get hit with another 11-hour workday tomorrow. Yep, 8-7. Sorry folks, not gonna be able to join everyone at O'Leary's for some karaoke fun. Word on the street is that Nix is coming, so you guys will get to see him at least.
Yesterday was hard, and hectic, and very worrysome. I worked an 11-hour day. All the freaks that come to my work came to the office yesterday. Here's a quick rundown of a couple of the freaks.
**Names have been changed to protect the freaks**
Al -- Al is a black man in his late 30s. He's diabetic, partially blind, and walks with a cane. That's not why he's a freak. That's just a tragic part of his life. Al has decided that he doesn't like American women. Al's getting a mail order bride from the Philipines. Guess who he's recruited to write letters to her, since he's blind. Yep, me. So once she comes over here, I get to meet the woman I've been corresponding with. Don't worry, they're not letters of unrequited love. More friendship letters than anything. I'm Al's ghostwriter, only I'm a lot smarter than him, so when she meets him, he's gonna look like such a dumbass. Yay, big words. On top of all this, Al thinks he and I are buddies, but he loves to criticize me. In one day, he said he hated my hair cut, scoffed at me for drinking sugar soda, told me that he can cook Italian food better than me (you don't EVER say that to a Wop, unless you wanna suddenly get "disappeared". He also steals our lollipops, which are for the little kids of patients treating with us, not for 40 year old men with mental problems. He takes all the blue ones, like 10 at a time. Doc made me take him home one time, since he can't drive and his Call-a-Ride people didn't pick him up. I was never more anxious to get him out of my car. Lately, I've gone out of my way to be a smartass to him. I wanna do normal work, not talk to Al the freak.
Jim - Jim is in his 70s. He's retired from A-B. First, let's talk about Jim's family. Jim is married to Elizabeth, a woman who looks a hell of a lot older than 65. She walks with a cane and has a mouth like a trucker. She's also half deaf, so you have to scream at her in order to get her to hear you. She likes to tell me that I "favor my mother". She's met my mother and decided that we look alike, which we do. However, I don't need the woman pointing it out everytime she comes to the office. Jim has a son, who's in his 40s, named Jim, Jr. The best way I can describe him is Neanderthal. He wears ratty jean shorts, tight t-shirts (he's like 260 lbs) and has long hair and a long scraggly beard. He looks like Grizzly Adams. Or a sex offender. I'm not sure. Anyway, he's quiet and keeps to himself. Before I met Nix, Doc told me he'd set me up with Jim, Jr. For the rest of that day, I got back at Doc by not giving him any of his phone messages and playing computer games instead of doing work. Yay revenge! Anyway, back to Jim. He's a nice old man, but he is mentally fucked. He talks about the most random shit and jabbers on and on, only to flip to another subject in almost mid-sentence. Or, he'll just spout random shit. I was coming back from the bathroom and him and his wife were walking down the hall from the office. I say "Hi guys." His wife says "What?" and Jim says "We had omelettes for breakfast today. I like mine with cheese and green peppers". I said, "That's great, Jim. I like omelettes too. Anyway, I gotta go." I barricaded myself in my back office for the rest of the day.
Rick -- Rick is a felon. Rick lives in a halfway house. I had to take Rick to the bank one day so he could cash a check and pay money to the doctor. Rick didn't have his ID, only his Department of Corrections badge. Hooray for Take A Felon to the Bank day!
Anyway, those are 3 of the more colorful characters that come into my office. Believe me, I've got some stories to tell (like about a recent patient, who's in jail now for raping and suffocating a 70 year old woman 7 years ago, or about . And these people are coming in to have their backs worked on. They need to go to a fucking head doctor. Shit, all the crazies aren't locked up, it seems.
Well, I spent a long time talking about crazy folks. That's my job though, tending to the psychos.
11 hours tomorrow. I can handle it, cause I'm Super Andrea.
Last night was stressful. We had a bit of a scare with Jarrod, but it was our best show we've ever played other than that.
REMINDER : Trivia Night next Tuesday @ O'Learys. Jason has joined the squad and will be accompanying me next week. We wish for more people to come. Let me know if you would like to accompany Jedi Master Yoda and the Trivia Mistress to O'Learys for some asskicking. The lovely Miss Katie (college friend of the Jedi and myself) and guitar god Chuk may join us as well. Hmmm...technology, general useless info and music, entertainment, and history. We've got the total package. We need General Nate for WWII trivia and someone for sports and we've got all our bases covered. Anyone is welcome to attend. Lemme know. For a crash course in how NOT to play trivia at a bar, refer to the Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode "Super Trivia".
I have to get maintenance in here sometime in the next week to fix yet another leak. Somehow the air register in my living room is leaking water inside the wall. I have a waterspot on my living room wall and a drip drip into a puddle coming from my bedroom wall overhang. Fuck. I'm so tired of shit leaking in this apartment. Well, it's better than living in my car. At least my bed is comfortable (if you like sleeping on concrete, which I do).
Had lunch with Toni today. Caught up on stuff that's happened since the wedding and talked about the honeymoon. Found out some shit I really didn't care to know about. Okay, I did care to know about it, cause it was damned funny, but I will never tell anyone what I heard. I'm taking this one to the grave. Sorry.
A thought on Toni, if I may. We were pretty good friends in high school, it tapered off a bit in college, just cause I was at Mizzou and she was here. But she was dating Scuba and then Nick, so we were really never "not friends". There were just times we didn't talk as much as we do now. I thought of something a little while ago. She and I have become a whole lot tighter in the last year than we've ever been. This Amber fiasco has really brought us closer as friends. I don't care if anyone doesn't like her. All I know is that I had a lot of fun at lunch with her today. I don't do that with a lot of people. A little 1 on 1 time is nice once in a while. And she got me a cool shot glass from St. Martin, so she's like my favorite person right now. That's the way to my heart -- shot glasses. They're good times.
It's time for bed. I gotta get up in 4 1/2 hours for my 11 hour day and my daily dose of freakshow goodness. Oh, joy!

And The Beat Goes On...
That's right. The beat goes on.
Lots of fun stuff has been happening here lately. Here's my update.
Hmmm...where to start.
--Slowly trying to regain a sense of normalcy since Nix moved out. No, I'm not mad or anything. I'm happy that he's happy. I will always worry about him and care deeply about him. However, I think this is the best thing for both of us.
--Been hanging out with the old group lately. How we've all stayed friends this long is anyone's guess.
--Toni and Erich's wedding. Yeah. There's been enough bullshit spewed about that. I'm just gonna say that it was a beautiful wedding, and despite the snafus, I'd do it again. Can't fault me for that, so don't even try.
--Go see Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. It's great!
--Got sick of my fake nails for the wedding. Pulled each and every one of them off, discovering that my pain threshhold is higher than I originally thought
--Scarlet Whore TOMORROW at the RED SEA. 8 pm. BE THERE!
Hmmm...what else.
Oh!
Happy belated birthdays to:

Flashback
Early in june, I did something. I didn't think and I ended up hurting someone deeply. I was selfish and thought only of myself. Tonight, those actions of mine came back to haunt me, in the darkest way possible. I saw a side of the person that I hurt that I've never seen before. And you know what, I deserved everything I got -- every scream, every yell, every "Fuck off", every "Fuck you" every "I hate you", every "fucking bitch". I deserved it and they were justified in giving it to me. This is my apology.
@Nix -- I can offer you only one thing. My sincere apology. True, it may not be worth much, but inside, I feel like nothing. I feel like I betrayed you and ruined your life. I feel like shit right now, and I deserve to feel that way, because I didn't think about you on the one day that mattered to you the most. I was selfish. I wish there was a better way to say I'm sorry, and I know that it will never fix it completely. If I could go back in time and do it all over again, I'd do it so much differently. I'd listen to your story, I'd let you go off on your own, to have time to think and to not think about the thing that haunts you most in life. I'd let you have your day. Instead, I was selfish and thought of myself. That makes me a horrible person and I hope that you will find it in your heart to forgive me. I never want to go through what I went through tonight...all the rage and anger. It scared me, it upset me. I care about you deeply, with every fiber of my heart I care about you. I feel horrible and am publicly outing myself as someone who cares only about themselves, a selfish human, full of guilt and sorrow. Someone who hurts the ones they love, even if it's not deliberately. A terrible person, condemened to a life of confusion and pain because of the selfish decision I made. I would do anything in the world to make this up to you. Anything at all, any cost, any action. But for now, all I can offer is my apology and a plea for forgiveness, from a selfish human.

Busy prepositions, always on the go!
Wow. I'm blogging.
No. I'm not dead. I've been mega-busy lately, but not at all dead. Sorry I've been so distant and haven't blogged lately.
Oh Judas H. Priest, where to begin?
I made a list of stuff I wanted to blog about. I lost that list.
Let's get the fun stuff out of the way first. I want you in a good mood at the end of this blog.
--Scarlet Whore rocked the house at the Red Sea. Thanks to Kurt and everyone at the Red Sea for being sweet and accomodating and really personable and nice. Word on the street is that we're headlining a metal showcase there on July 19. Busy July.
--Happy Birthday to my 2nd cousin Destiny and to Amanda and Wendi. Also happy birthday (albeit a week belated) to one of the greatest guitar legends ever...Mr. Les Paul. He turned 90 last week. So next time you go to Guitar Center and see a Gibson, wish Les Paul a happy 90th.
--Deep Throat (the man, not the porn) was outed last week as being Mark Felt, the number 2 guy at the CIA. In his younger years, he bore a striking resemblance to Christopher Walken. Pictures to come soon.
--Congrats to Joe on getting a new job. YAY!
--Michael Jackson beat it. That's all I'm gonna say.
And now, for the bad stuff
--Epps totally punked Nix. Hope he enjoys having his own place. Thanks for making my life, and Nix's, just a little more difficult. Appreciate it.
--Beav's been under a lot of pressure lately. Hang in there, buddy. Remember my advice to you - "Use what you have and do your best". You do not have to live up to such lofty expectations. Just do what you can.
--My sister is killing my father. Very slowly, but nonetheless killing him.
--I cannot keep this place clean. I cannot keep my life in order. It's chaotic.
--Ugh.
My head is swimming. I feel like screaming. I need to go away for a while, to de-stress. But I can't do that. I'm too busy.
Sounds : Nix is sleeping through Day of the Dead, which I can hear from the living room.
Link : don't really feel like looking for one.
It feels good to sit down,

Road trippin' with my two favorite allies, fully loaded we got snacks and supplies
Another successful Scarlet Whore concert in the books. This one took place at Club Shattered in Columbia, MO on Monday. Other than some slight car trouble (not nearly as major as last year's fiasco on I-70), the thing went off without a hitch.
I've decided that they (the highway commision or the state) should name the westbound shoulder of I-70, spanning from Wentzville to 7 miles outside of the Boone County line after Scarlet Whore, with as much time as we've spent on that god-forsaken shoulder in the past two years. The Scarlet Whore I-70 Shoulder project is in the planning stages, at least in my head.
Got a phone call last night from an old friend. I love that. It's my friend Tyann from high school (the girl I may have mentioned regarding taking still shots and publicity photos for the Loaf project). She, Yoda, and I are going to the Grind down in the Central West End tonight, for some coffee/tea and some catching up. Tyann is a fucking riot. We talked for about 45 minutes on the phone last night and she cracked my shit up. The 1-2 punch of her and Yoda tonight should be too much for my seriousness to bear. I may actually resort to laughing my ass off most of the night. It'll be good to see her again.
This computer is backasswards. It's my sister's computer (I'm at my mom's doing laundry) and this computer is set up for those damn left handed people. Friggin' lefties. I swear.
Hey guys, I have an idea. Let's invite everyone to Kristen's for a party at 11 pm on a Wednesday night and then trash her house and blame it on Steve and Heather, cause we all know that they were the ones who trashed her house and they're the problem with everything in this world. It would embarass them and make them look like total asses .That would be very much fun.
*disclaimer -- the above was a joke. If it is not taken as such, you're a moron. Yes my friends, the Hizzy does in fact have a sense of humour. SHOCKING!*
At this point, shit has spun out of the realm of my control or anyone else's. When someone has gangrene in the leg, you don't kill the person. You just cut off the leg.
Link o' the blog -- no link today as all my fun links are saved on my home PC
Music o' the blog -- Stroke 9 "Kick Some Ass" (It's the only good thing on my sister's computer. The rest is all cRap and country and Gwen Stefani)
And now for a new Hizzblog installment -- Top Ten

and the number 1 thing I learned since my last blog entry
1. Women now have the power to choose the sex of their children (Saw PV, talked to him about if him and Gena were gonna have anymore kids. Here's how the convo went)
Setting : Yoda's backyard
HIZZY : So, Nick, you and Gena gonna have anymore kids?
PV : Yeah, we're thinking about it. The next one is gonna be a girl.
CHUCK : So you want the next one to be a girl?
PV : I guess. Gena says she wants a girl, so we're gonna have a girl.
Seems like the more things change, the more they do in fact stay the same,

Life's a piece of shit, when you look at it.
No. I'm not in a bad mood. A rather good mood as a matter of fact.
I got cool DVDs tonight.
Okay, let's start from the begining. Went to the Loop with Toni and Erich. We had some time to kill after dinner, so we hurried down to Streetside on Delmar before it closed. There, I picked up 2 DVDs for 15 bucks total. I got Pi -- a lovely sci-fi thriller by Daron Aranofsky. I really encourage viewing this, over and over again. It's a mindfuck on the highest level, but one of the last scenes in the movie will just stick in your mind for so long. Hint : It involves a drill.
The 2nd movie I picked up was the 2 disc special edition of Monty Python "The Meaning of Life", probably my fave Python movie of all of them. And it's a 2 disc special edition. I rule!
We saw Kung Fu Hustle tonight. I thought it was going to be stoopid funny, like Kung Pow was. However, I was quite suprised. Excellent kung fu scenes and while it did have humor, and lots of it, there were serious moments as well. The death scenes were really cool too. See this when it comes to Keller.
Well, I took a final on monday. This was the hardest fucking final I have ever taken in my entire life. I'm a smart chick, and I wanted to cry this was so hard. I studied my butt off for this final and I just sat there and stared at it for 5 minutes after we were told to start, trying to take in just exactly how hard it was. It was so hard I wanted to leave class, go to the nearest gun store, buy a gun, and blow my brains out, hard. My head hurt after I took it.
So I called my professor today. He had the tests graded.
Here's how the conversation went
A=Andrea, Hizzy, etc.
S = Satan, my professor (he truly is an evil evil man)
A = Hi. This is Andrea from your EDU 585 class. I'm calling about my grade. I don't want to know what I got on my test. It was the hardest test I've ever taken. Could you just tell me what I got in the class
S = **laughs devilishly** You got a B in the class.
A = Oh well, in that case, you can go ahead and tell me what I got on the final.
S = **taps his pitchfork on the ground** You got a C on the final.
A = Wow. Cool. Okay, thank you Dr. Satan
S = You have a good summer.
A C. A goddamn motherfucking C. I've never been so friggin' happy to get a C on a test in my entire life. If this was any other class, I think I'd cry if I got a C on a final, but because it was Hell 101, I'm extatic about the C. My 4.0 is shot, thanks to the B in the class, but I wasn't even expecting that, since I thought I bombed the final. Oh well, I still have at least a 3.5, probably closer to 3.7 or 3.8. Thank you Dr. Satan, for making my day.
I think that's it. I gotta go to work in the morning. Fuck work. And then I have a Scarlet Whore concert in the evening. The life of a Hizzy is never dull, believe me.
@Nix -- Sorry I missed your call. I was in the movie. Tried to call back, but there was no answer. Just gimmie a call tomorrow. Love you.
I leave you all, especially Beaver with a quote from a wise man, Mr. Alice Cooper.
"School's out for summer. School's out forever. School's been blown to pieces."
I have a sudden craving for Twizzlers,

All you are - It's time to close the book up
And it's finished. It's finally finished. Happy Hizzy Dance time. Not only is it finished, it's damn good too. This is the first time I've had to write a paper over 3 pages since May of 2003. It's finished. It it done. All 10 pages, title page, table of contents, and presentation outline. I just seriously kicked this paper's ass. Fingers crossed about the grade.
I still have one more teeny paper to do. 1 page reflection piece on a chapter for another class. I can get that done in 10 minutes. That's nothing. I also have to redo part of my project for that class, but it's not a huge deal.
Enough about school.
This weekend ruled. Weekends for me have really been rocking some major ass lately. Quick recap for all y'all.
Friday -- saw THHGTTG (wow, lots of T's, H's, and G's. For those of you not in the know, that's The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy). See that fucking movie asa-fucking-p. It's incredible. Funny, visually stunning, and though it seems to end a bit early, still worthy of my 8 bucks, and yours as well. Went to Sunshine Daydream, a store for all of you who like hippie stuff and 'for tobacco use only' products. Yoda and Chuck wanted to go and I was driving so I really had no choice. Afterwards, went to Caleco's, where I thoroughly kicked ass at the trivia quizzy thing. I was champion supreme. Then I went home and worked on the paper.
Saturday -- went to a shitty seminar for work from 9-1. Got lost on the way there. Brentwood Blvd is closed at downtown Clayton, and I had no idea of that (up yours, Mapquest). So I had to go up to Hanley and come in the back way. After the seminar, I came home, sat around, worked on the paper, went to the library, made copies, spent 10 bucks on copies (that's 100 printed pages of text, my friends), watched the ballgame, and then went to Steve and Heathers for a little change of scenery and fun times. Came home, worked on more paper, watched Clerks, and went to bed about 3.
Sunday -- got up, went to a gi-fucking-gantic book fair at West County mall with mom. Got books. Came home, worked on paper, cleaned just a little bit, and had people over for Animation Domination Sunday on Fox. The new Family Guy ruled. I already can't wait for next week. It is now 12:21 AM on Monday. I told myself I hoped to be done with my paper by Monday morning and I am. I finished it at 11:45. I wouldn't call it procrastination, as I've been busy with other important stuff, and I've been steadily working on it for about the last week or so.
I never thought I'd be able to cram so much into a weekend. With this paper done, I can breathe now. I have to present it to my class tomorrow, but it shouldn't be too hard. Just gotta follow the outline. I'm bringing in some visual aids too, so I can kill 5 minutes talking about those. Our presentation is to be 15-20 minutes. I'm very long winded, so I can do that.
As for the week ahead, Monday is work and school, Tuesday is work/laundry/and Dad's birthday. I have to go get his present tomorrow. I think Nix gets home either Tuesday or Thursday, I don't remember which.
Oh, I just remembered another thing I did. I went to the dollar store. I love the dollar store.
It's time to kick back and get comfortable. I think I'm gonna go in, take a shower, and then possibly read a little bit of my chapter for my short reflection piece tomorrow.
Happy dos de mayo, everyone.
