Ice Ice Baby

**It's by Vanilla Ice. It's damn catchy and I know most of the words (fuck you very much, early 90s radio), but it still sucks. One horn up, and a middle finger too**

I can hear little droplets of ice falling outside. It's sorta pretty sounding, until I think about getting to work tomorrow. Woo hoo, fun times. Before I go to bed tonight, I might go see the condition of my car -- whether or not I can even get in the motherfucker, if the windows are iced up. I'm really glad I didn't wash it. It would have been all in vain.

I'm such a fucking nerd. I'm doing schoolwork -- mainly reading, that's all we really do in grad school anyway -- on a fucking Friday night. Oh well, with the bad weather and me being in a dire financial state until I pay rent, it's probably all for the best.

You know, I really thought one of my classes was going to rape me up the ass. My professor is one of the hardest graduate instructors (reputed, at least) and the class seemed like it was going to be hard. Basically, it's the first 3/4 of my thesis. It's gonna be done in this class. I had no clue what I was doing, until I read the first chapter of the book. Now, I have several ideas about what my ARP (Action Research Project -- basically, a project we do at the end of the year that is the Ed. School's version of a thesis, only there is no thesis reading or defense. We essentially create and do a scientific study, with hypotheses and everything. It's hard to explain. Come over and read my syllabus if you want to know more) will be about. I'm not even a week into the class though, it's best not to put all my eggs in one basket. I'm not worried about the other class. Dr. Christensen is an exceptional teacher. I had her last semester and am used to her teaching style and her assignments. Not looking forward to the required fucking chapter reflections on every chapter though. It's busy work and a waste of my time. I'll still do them though, because an A looks a whole lot better than a B.

Okay, enough rambling about dorky stuff. Go ahead, call me a big nerd. I don't care.

Onto fun stuff.

I was going to put my Oscar picks up, but after looking over the list, I realized it would just turn into me ranting. I'll just post them at another time, once I have time to think about them. I still want to have an Oscar party though.

Nix comes home early early Monday morning. I can't wait. I miss him, but I hear that they're doing pretty okay in Texas, so at least that's going well.

This ice is picking up outside. I can hear it. It's pouring down ice. As bored as I am, I'm glad I'm inside. For those of you out in this shit, be safe, please.

I think that's all.

Daddy

*Daddy is a song by Korn. They never do it live in concert because it makes Jonathan Davis cry like a little girl. I think it's a good song. 4 out of 5 metal horns*

Well, we got the results back on my dad. Nope, no stomach cancer. He has what is called Crohn's Disease (pronounced krones). It's an intestinal disease. Basically, my mom said it's like having measles, only on your intestines. It's not curable, but it's not fatal either. He has to take medicine. If you feel like researching it, go ahead. I just did some quick fact checking and it doesn't look pretty. Oh well, at least we know what's wrong with him and that he's not going to die. That's all I hoped for, really.

Nix leaves for texas today. Sad.

Amber moves this weekend. Happy.

Back at school this semester. Mixed.

That's all. I now return you to your regularly scheduled life, already in progress.

Everybody wang chung,

Down with the Sickness

**DWTS rules! Disturbed rules! 'Nuff said. 5 horns out of 5**

I recieved some disturbing news today. For those of you who may or may not know, my father is sick. He's been having stomach troubles for the past four months now. He's been to the doctors and they put him on some medication, but it isn't helping. He has to go in for a bunch of tests and scans and various other things. They found ulcers, but gave him medicine to kill the ulcers, but it didn't work, as I said. My grandfather died from stomach cancer within 6 months of being diagnosed. Granted, he also died from cirrhosis of the liver, but mainly stomach cancer. Let's hope things don't go that way for my dad.

Otherwise, things have been going pretty well of late for the Hizzy. Looks like the weather is finally gonna get warmer, at least for a little while.

Ordered my bridesmaid dress for Toni's wedding. It's pretty. I encourage you all to come see me wear a dress. It shall be THE spectator event of the year.

I really don't have much more to say. I'm really worried about my dad. I hope things go better for him and that he gets better. He's a cool guy sometimes and he's really a fun dude to talk to about history and stuff like that. I'm just worried, that's all.

Hope everyone is well.

Let's Build a Snowman (and Make Him Our Best Friend)

**Lets Build a Snowman is a song from the excellent film Cannibal : The Musical. I encourage you all to rent Cannibal. It's hilarious. So is the snowman song. I've posted the lyrics below. I give Let's Build a Snowman 5 huge horns up.**

Let's Build a Snowman

Sometimes, the world is black.
And tears run from your eyes.
And maybe we'll all get really sick.
And maybe we'll all die.
So...

Let's build a snowman!
We can make him our best friend.
We can name him Tom or we can name him George!
We can make him tall, or we can make him not so tall.
Snowman!

He'll have a happy face, a happy smile, a happy point of view.
If you build me a snowman, then I'll build one for you.

So, let's build a snowman!
We can make him our best friend.
We can name him Bob or we can name him Beowulf!
We can make him tall, or we can make him not so tall.
Snowman!

Hey!
(Tapdance solo)

He'll have a happy face, a happy smile, a happy point of view.
If you build me a snowman, then I'll build one for you.
Snowman! Snowman! Snowman!

Short blog this time. I just want to say snow sucks and my apartment complex does too. Fucking hills. I couldn't get home tonight. Ended up sliding around on the hills for a while, Keenan and Chrissy had to come get me unstuck. My car is at Mom's, as we couldn't get to my apartment at all. I miss my car. I hate snow. Fuck it all. It is gonna suck going to work tomorrow. Goddammit.

Die snow die.

So Much to Say

**So Much to Say is by the Dave Matthews Band. Now, I know that DMB sucks really bad, but some of their songs have a nice groove, and besides, it just goes with the blog today. So Much to Say gets 2 horns out of 5.**

So Nix has gone to Jeff City for the weekend. I'm feelin' pretty lonely and down. However, I'm gonna go drown my sorrows in some friends tonight. Hopefully it will be a good time and I can smile a little.

@Amber -- sorry about all the shit going on with you. Congrats on the interview though!

I guess I can't complain though. I've had 3 glorious weeks of Nix being home. Besides, I'm glad he's back to work and making money. I hate to see him broke. Baby, if you're reading this, I'm thinking about you and I love you. Hang in there with Tommy. Where'd the cheese go at?

There's a guys night tomorrow. Supposed to be a drunken good sausage fest. I hope you all get good and drunk because if I find out that any one of you pussed out and didn't drink, there'll be hell to pay, Hizzy style.

I've been working on getting Scarlet Whore some gigs. Did a lot when I got home from work today. Hmmm...Scarlet Whore opening for Black Label Society @ Pops? That's what I'm shooting for. Either that or King Diamond or Danzig, bitch. I'm also looking at several other venues and a possible fest. Ah, the life of a manager, always exciting. There is also the possibility of a major Creepy Crawl show. I'll find out later this month.

I'd like to implore everyone to please visit the forums again. They are dying. How often do you guys watch movies or listen to music or do anything that would warrant a board post? Probably a lot. Come on people, this is a direct order :)

My cable is all fucked up. I"m gonna have to call tech support (read : stay on hold for hours and hours only to talk to someone in India, as is the case with computer tech support. Probably the same for cable). Now, I've been saying that I was gonna do it for about a week, just like adding wiper fluid to my car and framing the pic Amber drew for me. Eventually, everything will get done.

Bought Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle. You, over there, stop laughing. It's entertaining, brainless humor. And besides, you can't go wrong with NPH.

Wrote a new song on Acid. Right now, it's just called CoolSong. I wish I could post it on here so that you all could hear it. I'm trying to decide on titles right now. THe top 3 choices are "Scrote", "A Handle on Things" or "Bottom Line". I'm no good at titles. If it were up to me, everything would be labeled "Song 1" "Song 2" etc. Fucking Chemical Brothers already used Loops of Fury. Damn them.

I think that's all for now. Have fun, kids.
